~Christmas Touches on the Coffee Table~

I am enjoying the process of adding a few seasonal touches to my holiday home. In my last post, I shared my holiday mantel. Over the past few days, I've been tinkering with a classic look for the coffee table...

Our coffee table is oversized and can handle a variety of accents.
I started with a silver teapot and a large, embossed silver tray...

I added a few pinecones to the tray and red roses, with a pine branch, to the teapot...

A small stack of red plaid napkins are ready for treats and snacks; and what would Christmas be without a display of antlers?

The oversized brass, glass and marble-based hurricane has been hiding out in one of the guest rooms. I thought it would be a great addition for a classic look. I simply filled it with a large pillar candle, surrounded by cranberries...

On the opposite side of the table, a stack of boxes complete the look...

And, that is my coffee table decor!
Hopefully, I will work on my tree this weekend; and have it ready to share soon. Hope you're having fun decorating your homes!

~Christmas Mantel 2014~

Hi Everyone! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
Today, I just wanted to share my Christmas mantel. I usually get inspired by some place that I've visited; and Charleston had that effect on me. This year, I wanted a simple, classic look, with traditional red and green decor, and lots of plaid ribbon!

When I think of classic style, I immediately think of my all-time favorite designer... Ralph Lauren. I love his various interpretations; and I've tweaked the look for our decor. His signature style is very equestrian; and I've incorporated a 'touch' of it in my mantel decor.

There are horses and horseshoes...

Miniature silver trophies...

And a fox or two...

I even used my Ralph Lauren wellies on the hearth...

Along with a rustic, wood and leather trunk...

Our stockings are making another appearance this year, sporting our initials...

And the gold-leafed reindeer are sporting plaid bows and sprigs of evergreens and berries...

And that's our mantel for this year!

Normally, I am finished with my decor by now. But, I've decided to take my time this year. I always feel so rushed to get everything done, just to get my blog posts out. This year, I just want to savor the season. It goes so fast!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

~The New "Tuscan Home" Magazine Is Out Now...And We're In It!~

Hi everyone! Hope you're having a great weekend! We sure are! You may recall that Author/Editor/Stylist Extraordinaire, Fifi O'Neill, came to photograph our home, back in June. (You can read that post here.) Well, the new publication is on newsstands now!

The magazine is called, "Tuscan Home"; and it is filled with gorgeous, glossy pages full of Tuscan inspiration! I actually had no idea that it was out! My BFF, Donna, picked it up at the grocery store, to read while getting her hair done. Imagine her surprise when she stumbled upon the spread of our home! She immediately called me; and I grabbed my keys to run out in search of a few! It was so surreal to see our home in print! We have a 12-page spread that starts on page 116. These are just a few of my favorite images...

As you can see, not much of our decor was changed, with the exception of a few fresh flowers and fruit, for props. Fifi also gathered up some of my extra pillows and throws to add texture and additional pops of color.

You have seen many of these rooms, here, on the blog; and there are a couple of rooms that I don't think I've shared before.

I will be forever grateful to Fifi for selecting our home for her premier publication! She and photographer, Mark Lohman, were a joy to work with!

Hopefully, you will be able to pick up a copy at a store near you!

Thanks so much for sharing this experience with me!

~Pottery Barn Tablescape in Charleston~

While going through some of the photos of our recent trip to Charleston, I came across a couple of photos that Dear Hubby took; and I decided to share them with you today.

While enjoying the shopping mecca that is King Street, we had to make a stop at Pottery Barn. I was immediately drawn to this gorgeous tablescape and asked Dear Hubby to take a pic. I love the warm, rich colors; and the white dinnerware, in the background, just pops! I had found my inspiration for my Fall kitchen decor!

Here is a closer look, at the table. The turkey plates are on my list of things to get, in the next couple of weeks; and I love this mix of cream, white and green pumpkins.

I've been busy with lots of projects around the house; but, I just wanted to pop in to share these photos. Hopefully, you've found some inspiration for your Fall tablescapes.

Thanks for stopping by!

~Thanks, Charleston, I Had A Blast!~

Well, Dear Hubby and I have just returned from an awesome trip to Charleston, to celebrate my birthday! Charleston is my all-time favorite city; and this trip did not disappoint. The weather was warm; but, not too hot. Perfect for walking around and snapping great pics! Our hotel was in the heart of the historic district; so, everything was very accessible! Today, I am sharing just a few of the photos that I took while strolling thru the historic district...

I also took several of the mansions along The Battery, on the waterfront...

The courtyards were beautiful, as well.

I haven't had a chance to go through all of those photos, yet. Hopefully, I'll have those available to share soon.

Finally, in my last post, I shared my obsession with paper guest towels, for the powder bath. I found these in downtown Charleston, in a cute little boutique called, "C'est La Vie", and HAD to get them!

I loved the crowns and the VIP logo; but, it you look closely at the background, you can see a rendering of one of the single homes in the historic district, complete with wrought iron railings and window boxes. I thought these were really cute!

Well, that's it for today! I am prepping for weekend houseguests; but, I wanted to share a few of the sights from this past weekend.
Hope you're having a great day!

~Sometimes, It's The Little Things~

I'll be the first to admit that it's "the little things" that make me happy! One of the things that I look forward to, every year, is seeing all of the seasonal decor. However, each year, I run to Hobby Lobby for these...

and these...

Ok, I have a confession. I am obsessed with pretty, paper napkins! I know it's nothing special; but, seasonal napkins just make me smile. I like to keep a stash, in a basket, in the pantry. They are fun to have on the breakfast table, when you are not using linen napkins; and they are nice to have, for guests, in a powder bath.

The napkin assortment, in the pantry, is as varied as the seasons/holidays; and they really come in handy for those impromptu gatherings with friends and family.  Our guests always notice that I "just happen to have" the perfect napkins for the season or occasion.

A great way to accumulate a nice collection is to purchase them, at the end of each season, when all of the decor is on sale! However, Hobby Lobby has them with their seasonal decor all the time. Usually, they are 40-50% off. Of course, I have been known to pay full price, when I've seen a pattern in a boutique or gift shop that I just couldn't resist. Because they're so inexpensive, I don't feel too bad about it!

So, feel free to splurge on the "little things" to add a touch of the season to your decor!

Hope you're having some fun with your Fall decor!

~It's A European Harvest~

One of the great things about decorating for Fall is being able to enhance the decor on the fireplace mantel. The accents of autumn provide beautiful color and texture. I've been envisioning a mantel reminiscent of a lush, European harvest.

In my last post, I brought in lanterns and green photinia clippings from the courtyard. The greenery just required the addition of some fall accents. As it continues to dry, it will develop some beautiful reddish, brown leaves.

I simply added a few sunflowers, artichokes, fall leaves and pumpkins.

I love adding white pumpkins to soften things a bit...

I also added a few pumpkins and photinia clippings to the hearth,

A fall swag enhances the iron embellishment, above the metal container, filled with Fall accents...

And that's the Fall mantel for 2014...

I'm in the process of setting up a few vignettes around the house; and I hope to share those soon.
Hope you're enjoying a little taste of Fall where you are!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
