~A Bowl Of Fall's Bounty~

Well, with the official first day of Fall just around the corner, the decorating continues! I have this large urn, that I like to move around the house, and change it's contents seasonally. I placed it on the buffet island, between the kitchen and the family room, and filled it with lots of Autumn goodies!

I decided to just throw in a mix of colors and textures!

I found these metallic pumpkins at Michaels. The regular price is $2.99; and, they are 50% off this week!

I added feather balls for texture and height; and threw in a couple of hydrangeas...

Tossed in some pinecones and fall berries...

And my fall bowl was complete!

This was such an easy thing to do; and it adds a lovely fall touch to the kitchen/family room area.

I also got this lovely issue of Southern Lady magazine, in the mail this week...

And also, from Southern Lady, this wonderful special issue of Autumn in the South...

These two magazines are just overflowing with wonderful ideas for Fall!

Well, that's it for today! How's your fall decorating coming along?

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

~The Fall Mantel Is Done~

Well, I admit, I have had enough of Summer! The blazing 90-100 degree days have taken their toll; and I am more than ready for Fall! Even though we have a few days left until the official first day of Fall; I decided to go ahead and decorate my mantel, to get me in the mood.

Since I decided to go with a more neutral color scheme in the family room, the fall colors have given me just enough 'punch' to spice things up a bit. I began by arranging a few orange and white pumpkins across the mantel, while elevating a couple of the larger, white ones on candlesticks.

I also brought in my favorite ZGallerie lanterns. I made swags from a large sunflower, a pumpkin embellished pick, and bittersweet, and placed one on top of each lantern.

Next, I added a floral swag to the decorative iron piece that hangs above the mantel. I slipped a few pheasant feathers in for texture.

Finally, I brought in some decorative accents, including an acorn ornament from the garden. I gave it a coat of bronze metallic paint.

In the center, I filled a harlequin jar with acorns and other fall accents...

I finished it all off with some clippings from a fall garland; and tucked the pieces in among the pumpkins.

I always start with the mantel, when decorating for the seasons; and it cost me absolutely nothing. I already had everything in my fall bins and collected the rest from around the house!

This officially starts the Fall season for me!

Thanks so much for stopping by; and I hope you're having a great day!
Happy Decorating!
