22 Years and Counting...

Happy Tuesday, everyone! Wow, it has been a whirlwind of activity around here! With my youngest daughter preparing to graduate next Monday, we have been swamped with prom, cheer banquet, and college forms. However, Dear Hubby and I took a small break to celebrate our 22nd wedding anniversary, on May 26th. We decided to get away for the weekend and took off for Asheville, NC. The scenery there is just stunning! Along the way, I did some shopping...more on that later in this post!!

While the Biltmore Estate is the most popular tourist destination, we decided to just take in the scenery on a drive along the famed Blue Ridge Parkway.  When God painted this landscape, it was truly a masterpiece!!

 The drive was just spectacular!!

While I loved all of the gorgeous scenery, the decorator in me wanted to SHOP! One of my favorite shops, located near the Biltmore Estate, was this cute little place called " The Last Straw".

The owner told us that this is one of the original houses that Mr. George Vanderbilt commissioned to house the masons who worked on the Biltmore Estate. It has 3 original fireplaces and charming, creaky wood floors. It is two stories of delicious "eye-candy", sure to delight any decorator!

As you can see, there were a lot of pretty sights in Asheville! I hope you have enjoyed your visit here today; and I can't wait to post on a more regular basis, once things calm down. Hope you're having a great day!!

New Tabletop Collection from Southern Living and Ballard Designs

Happy Thursday, everyone! Hope you had a Happy May Day; and you're enjoying some warm, Spring temperatures. I know my blogging has been sporadic over the past few weeks; but, we have a lot going on in our household. My "baby" just recently had her senior prom, we will be packing up my oldest daughter, who is wrapping up her freshman year in college, and we are preparing for my daughter's graduation. I have been spending most of my time freshening up the garden areas and haven't had much time to post.

While catching up on some of my blog reading this evening, I discovered that Southern Living and Ballard Designs have partnered to release a new tabletop collection.  To read more, check out Kimberly Schlegel Whitman's blog.  Kimberly is Editor-At-Large for Southern Living magazine.

Like many of you, I am a fan of both Southern Living magazine and Ballard Designs; and I am sure this will be an exciting collection!! For all of you great tablescapers out there, these could be some wonderful additions to your collections!

I hope you're all having a great week! I hope to have some new posts for you soon! Thanks for visiting!
