~Sometimes, It's The Little Things~

I'll be the first to admit that it's "the little things" that make me happy! One of the things that I look forward to, every year, is seeing all of the seasonal decor. However, each year, I run to Hobby Lobby for these...

and these...

Ok, I have a confession. I am obsessed with pretty, paper napkins! I know it's nothing special; but, seasonal napkins just make me smile. I like to keep a stash, in a basket, in the pantry. They are fun to have on the breakfast table, when you are not using linen napkins; and they are nice to have, for guests, in a powder bath.

The napkin assortment, in the pantry, is as varied as the seasons/holidays; and they really come in handy for those impromptu gatherings with friends and family.  Our guests always notice that I "just happen to have" the perfect napkins for the season or occasion.

A great way to accumulate a nice collection is to purchase them, at the end of each season, when all of the decor is on sale! However, Hobby Lobby has them with their seasonal decor all the time. Usually, they are 40-50% off. Of course, I have been known to pay full price, when I've seen a pattern in a boutique or gift shop that I just couldn't resist. Because they're so inexpensive, I don't feel too bad about it!

So, feel free to splurge on the "little things" to add a touch of the season to your decor!

Hope you're having some fun with your Fall decor!
Happy Decorating!

  1. I actually do this also, Shenita, but I have never thought about doing it for my house!! Lol, I keep things like this in our fifth wheel to make it feel homey. We always seem to have a crowd to eat when we camp, and yes, they come in extremely handy. Such a good idea for the house also, especially considering I usually serve everyone on my fine styrofoam china from walmart, lol. I keep the cute decorative plates and napkins and cups like this in the camper....go figure.
I do always think about you anytime I see the fleur de lis sign, tho.

  2. That's a good idea to gave those on hand. I always admire the pretty designs they come in. It's a great idea to get people to use them so germs aren't spread so easily. I had a big bash for my husband's 60th several years ago and I put a tray of those out. I refilled as the night went on and dumped used ones into a garbage bag I hid under the sink in the cabinet. Worked out great!

  3. I collect pretty napkins too Shenita. I have a huge stash and we use them all of the time. I always think that this years are the cutest and then buy a ton and then the next year's are even cuter. So, I'm trying to use restraint these days:-) I'm the same way with candles...

  7. We should have a club! LOL I have been "collecting" them for years. When the girls were younger I loved having fun napkins to pack in their school lunch bags. I actually still pick up cute ones I see for them and send them as a fun pick me up, or stocking stuffer. My girls are hooked too. My favorite right now are the ones I have for our bath on the main level, "Wash Your Hands and Say a Prayer, because Jesus and Germs are Everywhere."

  8. I'm right there with you!! Right now I'm trying to make myself be thrifty at the grocery store. Dadgum if I didn't run across the cutest Caspari napkins at Tom Thumb. I had them in my basket for a minute but they were $6 for just a few so I put them back. You might be influencing me to go back and get them. :)

  14. Shenita, I also love those pretty napkins from Hobby Lobby. The pretty colors and prints are hard to resist. :)
I also want to thank you for your visits to my blog and you always wonderful comments. I have been having some kind of an issue. Every time I publish a message, it won't show on my email inbox, so I can not email anyone back to thank them. Just wanted to let you know I really appreciate your visits. Big hug. Maria

  21. Oh, we're kindred spirits. I already have my fall napkins on the table with the Halloween and Thanksgiving ones hiding in the drawer, ready for their turn. It's such a little thing and it pleases me so much when I see them.

  22. What is it about these napkins, Shenita ~ I do the same thing! You'd think we were slobs for all the decorative packages of napkins I have here. : ) I always think I might be able to make something with them, too, although they are really so thin when you split the layers to get the pretty part. I saw some really pretty ones at the dollar store about a month ago. I started grabbing some packages but made myself put them back. I really have so many!

  23. I love the napkins Shenita and yes, they are gorgeous! I love napkins and my Mil refused to use any paper kind, therefore, I inherited so many lovely ones.
I love the paper ones, though; some I can't resist their beauty. Yours are gorgeous!
    Thanks for your sweet visit.

  24. I have a paper napkin obsession too, Shenita. Another great spot to look for them is Macy's. I bought a bunch last month on clearance for $1.50

  25. How fun! I love Hobby Lobby and their plates too. I buy some fun paper napkins and give them as little gifts if they reflect the personality of the recipient and they love them. I am going to have to follow Brandi's advice and look at Macys.

  26. I agree Shenita, pretty paper napkins are always great to have on hand. It does make sense to buy them at the end of each season for a good discount. Hobby Lobby is a great store, full of wonderful goods and inspiration.
