~Spring Has Sprung~

Hi Everyone! I am so happy to finally have some consistent Spring temps. While it has been really breezy, the weather has been really nice. I wanted to get out and start my flower pots this past weekend; but I can't settle on a color scheme. Between Pinterest and my gardening magazines, I'm not sure what I want to do! (Does that happen to you, too?) I hope to get all of the pots done this week. Anyway, as I walking around out back, I noticed that the rose bushes have started to bloom. I couldn't resist snipping a few; and sprucing up the tray on the coffee table.

Pink is one of my favorite colors; and the roses smell wonderful! The color also looks great with the magazine covers and the pastel wrappers in the candy dish!

Well, once the coffee table had been 'fluffed', the mantel felt a little dark to me; and needed a little boost. I didn't want to go out and buy anything; so, I used some items that I already had.

I flanked both ends of the mantel with a pair of topiaries, that I took from the kitchen window. They provide great height and fill the niche perfectly. I also brought in a garden finial, that I think I used last Spring. I added lemons to my trusty harlequin jar, for a pop of color, and added two little white birds. The centerpiece consists of my all-time, favorite flowers...white hydrangeas.

I've enjoyed adding some pops of color and fresh flowers to our decor. It really makes everything feel fresh and renewed! The sunlight flooding into the room wakes everything up!

There's nothing like shopping your own home and gardens, to add a few touches of Spring to your home! I love free decor!

Well, that's it for today! Hopefully, I'll have some outdoor photos for you soon. I hope you're having some fun decorating for Spring!

You have actual roses??!?! Already?!?!?! Are you kiddin' me??!?!?! We are still stuck in daytime highs only in the doggone 40s!! We've had nothing but clouds and wind and rain...it's like Seattle and Chicago had a baby who was sent here to do a stint in juvie! :-)

You've got your living room looking really great and VERY Spring-like! Enjoy!

  34. Shenita,
I agree, roses have the most wonderful fragrance of all the flowers grown!!!
Here On Crooked Creek, I try to stay within a tranquil color palette for the
out~of~doors plantings. The ones I use are silvery greens, blue~greens, purples
and a soft buttery yellow!!! When I gaze out on the Garden, I ^sigh^ and go ah~h~h!!!
My son and daughter~in~law have totally broken my color palette by adding pink
hues in the gifting of Mother's Day Rose Bushes! That little hint of "pink"
in the Garden keeps it refreshed!!!
So~o~o glad to see you in my blog mail box today...
I've been missing you, dear friend!
    Fondly,
    Pat

I wish the weather would warm up and stay that way so things will start blooming. My favorite flower in the garden is a hydrangea and I have two blue ones in pots that are just now starting to leaf out. Yea! Spring comes late to our neck of the woods. LOL Nice to see your comment. I have been oh so lax about visiting AND posting. Thanks, my friend. :-) Sue
