Adding Southern Accents to my Home...

Good morning! I hope you're all having a great week!!  During my blogging hiatus, I have been tweaking a few things in my home.  We have been spending a lot of time traveling the Gulf Coast this year.  Along the way, I have found some pretty embellishments to add to my decor, reflecting my Louisiana/Southern heritage.

In my previous post, I mentioned that I won a giveaway from Ron at The Uptown Acorn.  As fate would have it, Ron was giving away a great oyster plate designed by Oysteria, a New Orleans-based company. It was just the accent piece that I needed for my home! I could hardly wait to get it!

Well, the plate arrived today....

I felt like a kid on Christmas morning, as I opened the box...

This beauty was all that I had imagined...and then some!!

The workmanship is just exquisite and the back is branded with Oysteria's mark.

I knew exactly where I wanted to display it; and after winning, I began to gather pieces together, leaving a special spot for my new favorite accent!

This accent table is located between the foyer and the dining room.  I wanted to give the plate a place of prominence, where all of my guests can see it. It'll be great to tell them how I acquired it.

I love the way this vignette turned out! 

In my future posts, I will be sharing more of my Southern accents; and how I am incorporating them into my home. I hope you will join me!!

I Won via The Uptown Acorn!!!

Happy Father's Day! I know I have been M.I.A. for awhile; but, we have so much going on right now. We have made it through all of the graduations, proms, etc.; and now we are focused on dorm shopping.  It is amazing how many great items are on the market...even from just a year ago! Anyway, I have been trying to spend as much time as possible with my "baby", before she leaves for college.

Today, I'm excited to share with you my latest win!! A few weeks ago, I discovered a great blog, "The Uptown Acorn".  Ron has a gorgeous home in Uptown New Orleans; and for a Louisiana girl, like me, seeing how he has captured the essence of southern living in his home, has been a real treat!

Ron just hosted a great giveaway for Oysteria, a New Orleans based company, that specializes in exquisitely, handcrafted oyster serveware. You can read about them here.  Imagine my surprise when I logged on this morning and found a note from Ron saying that I had won!!

 (See my name on the strip of paper??!!...LOL!!!!)

I can't wait to receive my oyster plate; and I'll certainly show you how I have decided to display it!
