I enjoy the deep, rich tones of our kitchen; and they translate well for the warm, cozy feel of the season.
Layers of natural and faux foliage create a "bridge" between the two lanterns...I purchased these several years ago at ZGallerie.
Since there are only two of us at home now, Dear Hubby and I only use one side of the table...so, the display is not a conversation barrier!
My inspiration came from this display at Williams-Sonoma.
(The quality is not very clear, as I did a quick snap with my iphone!)
I love the beauty of the white dishes, with the rattan chargers; but, it was the pumpkin dinnerware that stole my heart! That mix, along with the stainless and copper cookware was just stunning. I love a mix of elements in the kitchen.
I also fell in love with the 'bushy' foliage of this display at
Pottery Barn...

(Another quick iphone shot)
So, I merged elements of the two...
The table is set with the "Botanical Pumpkin" plates from
Williams-Sonoma.
I saw them in the display above; and it was love at first sight!
Each setting began with these rattan chargers, which were a previous purchase from
Cost Plus World Market.

Each setting began with these rattan chargers, which were a previous purchase from
Cost Plus World Market.
The chargers were layered with white dinner plates from
Mikasa.
Then, the "Botanical Pumpkin" salad plates were added.
I purchased the dinner napkins, in the "Botanical Pumpkin" pattern, as well.
The napkin rings were a thrift find. I bought a bag of 8, for 99¢...they were brass; and I simply gave them a coat of Rustoleum Oil Rubbed Bronze. Now they are perfect for Fall!
A vintage copper ice bucket serves as a vase for the flowers and foliage. Various pumpkins, leaves, and gourds provide seasonal color. I'm doing a lot with copper in the kitchen this season, so this works perfectly.
The flicker of candlelight in the lanterns adds ambience; and they are topped with little fall accents.
To the right of the breakfast table, in a small space between the office doors and the pantry, I added a kitchen towel, also, in the "Botanical Pumpkin" pattern. The towel serves as a base for the wooden pizza peel, that was a thrift find, last week. I added some raffia and a few fall leaves for texture.
I hope to find some small white pumpkins to add to the table soon, as a final touch. Pumpkins are just starting to show up here; and I have not seen the white ones at all.

So, that's my fall breakfast area, for now!
I hope you have enjoyed your visit; and Happy Decorating!

LOVE those plates and your setting! Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful! And so tasteful and elegant. I love your decorating style!
ReplyDeleteThose dishes are the bomb, Shenita! I love anything pumpkin. Gorgeous table. xo
ReplyDeleteLanterns and berries are always beautiful to me, so I really like your tablescape. I've never seen those dishes, but those salad plates are really pretty. Fall items always look so nice in your home with the color choices you use, so your fall decorating is always stunning!Have a great week Shenita.
ReplyDeleteIt's a gorgeous tablescape. And I do love visiting our local Pottery Barn this time of year.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous tablescape dear Shenita. I love the centerpiece arrangement and the lanterns forming a bridge. The dishes are so pretty and your inspiration is fabulous...even better! Love the setting in your house with the warm atmosphere of the coloring you have, through out it. Enjoy your week.
ReplyDeleteFABBY
What an opulent table! So lush and full of fall's splendid beauty! I love those WS plates! YOu have set a real show stopper of a table!
ReplyDeleteYour Fall table setting is just perfect for the season! I like how you chose inspiration from the stores you visited to create it. Some white pumpkins would be just the right touch to tie in with your white plates too. If you can't find any real ones, you can always find some fakes at craft stores. That's what I do so I can use them year after year.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous table Shenita!!...Love everything about WS and PB...the centerpiece is spectacular with the shimmering candlelight!!
ReplyDeleteShenita,
ReplyDeleteThis is a gorgeous Autumn tablescape, absolutely stunning. The layering is exquisite. The lanterns and the toppers are so elegant and the chargers and plates are lovely together. The rich, earthy colors are so beautiful. Well done...love, love, love!! xo ~Liz
This is absolutely beautiful! The colors...oh, the colors. Fabulous job!
ReplyDeleteNancy
Love how your layers of natural and faux foliage create a "bridge" between the two lanterns. This is just gorgeous, perfect for two now that you are empty nesters. This is so gorgeous, I do love lanterns.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Fall table setting! I love those gorgeous plates!
ReplyDeletePumpkins are just starting to show up there? Really?!?!?!! I would have thought they'd be there before here in the Midwest. They've been in our nurseries and grocery stores for about a month+ now. The white ones are not quite as easy to come by this year. I don't know if that has anything to do with the drought or not. All of the pumpkins are priced a little above what we have enjoyed in the recent past. I think the white ones I bought the other day were 3 for $2. Anyhooooo....LOVE those Williams-Sonoma plates! Oh, my gosh, those are exquisite!!! They have a very artistic look to them. I can see why your heart skipped a beat! I like also that you merged elements of 2 looks you admired to create something uniquely your own. Very, very nice!!! Have a good week ahead!
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen is perfect for showcasing Fall colours! I love the table setting and centrepiece and the pizza board (all dressed up) is delightful! ~ Maureen
ReplyDeleteBeautiful decor, ideas and description, boy, empty nester ! Too young, hard too believe. I enjoy your posts via email and thank you for being so inspiring!Fall blessings Shenita and to yours:)
ReplyDeleteI can see why you fell in love with those pumpkin plates! And you put them to good use, love the lanterns with the pretty fall accents as a "bridge". I'm on the look out for some white pumpkins too - might have to resort to painting some!

Love this fall dining table ideas of yours, it is better to combine two different ideas in order to come up with a nice output just like what you did.
ReplyDeleteHi Shenita,
ReplyDeleteI love your name, that's pretty. I have never heard it before. :)
I love your table scapes and the photos are great.
I saw your comment on Debbie Doos blog. Do you do the newbie party thing? What do we need to do exactly? I am just so confused. lol Could you let me know? Is there a few steps to this thing? lol I would like to do it before my one year blogging anniversary, Oct 31st. That way I qualify on both accounts. The less than one year and the less than 100 followers. Anyway I'd like to try it this week, or today actually. :)
Gotta run..thanks in advance. Take care, Janet W

ReplyDeleteI am so LOVING the Botanical Pumpkin Plates! Gorgeous ...as is your entire tablescape! And the towel looks so pretty paired with the bread board!
ReplyDeleteI went back and compared the piece I found over the weekend at the yard sale, and it is a match to your lovely tureen! How about that! Mine must be a gravy boat, but the spoon is missing! I only paid 50 cents for it! :) Send me your address, and I'll send it to you! I'd love for you to have it! You can enjoy it with your beautiful tureen! (rmgrice@yahoo.com)
