A Whimsical Valentine's Table

We're fast approaching Valentine's Day; so, I thought it would be fun to add some Valentine's accents to the dining room table. I didn't want anything overly formal...just whimsical and fun!! When I moved the red settee into the dining room, it never occurred to me that it would be a great starting point for a Valentine's setting. I didn't want to spend a lot of money to do this, so off to Dollar Tree I went!!  I got just enough to give my table a little LOVE...lol!

I didn't want to go overboard with Valentine's decor.  I really wanted to use what I already had. The table was already set with my white china and crystal; and all I had to do was switch out the gold chargers for the red.

I added these little heart-shaped candy dishes to each setting...

I also added these heart favor boxes...

Since nothing says, "Love", like Paris, France...I added this Eiffel Tower. I purchased it a few years ago, at Hobby Lobby, during a 50% off sale. It usually resides in my oldest daughter's bedroom.

For the centerpiece, in lieu of roses, I threw together a low floral arrangement, using flowers that I already had.  I enjoy simply adding decorative picks and accents to adapt my arrangements to the holidays.  This time, I just added two small helium balloons and some sparkly Valentine's accents. Easy peasy!!

I finished the table off with a sprinkling of red rose petals...

The best part of all is that I only spent $10!!  Here is the breakdown:

Four Heart Shaped Candy Dishes- $4
Two Helium Balloons-$2
Two Red Sparkly Tabletop Accents-$2
Bag of  6 Heart Favor Boxes-$1
Bag of 300 Rose Petals-$1
Total Spent-$10.00!!!

Well, that's it for now. I hope you have been inspired to add a little LOVE to your dining table!

Verse of the Day:
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.   1 Corinthians 13:13

  41. Isn't it great when you don't have to spend a small fortune to create a fun table that really speaks to the occasion? Love it! I wonder if these dollar stores realize just what a treasure trove they really are to all of us? :-) I was just looking at the sidebar at your design inspiration books and noticed we have some things in common! I have many of the same publications! I don't have Betty Lou Phillips' "The French Room", though. I loved her "Unmistakably French" and have been trying my hardest to getting around to doing a French-inspired table. Just not feelin' it right now. Hope your week is sailing by problem and worry-free!
