What Do You Collect?

Happy New Year, everyone!! I hope you had an enjoyable holiday season!! I have enjoyed a couple of weeks away from blogging, just taking some time to refresh and spend time with my family.  I wasn't sure what I would post about first; but Alison, at The Polohouse, kinda solved that problem for me. Each month, on the first, she poses a new question, regarding our favorites, for us to post about.  This month's question is, "What do you love to collect?"

This was an easy one for me! CROSSES!! I have crosses displayed all over my home.

On my kitchen gallery wall:

On Candles:

On lampshades:

On the upper mantel:

On the lower staircase landing:

On Pillows:

Even on decorative accessories that I purchase...

Like this cradle that I use for my candles and fragrances:

And this picture frame from Kristen of  Kristen's Creations:

See the cute "bling" cross in the middle of the bow?

And for the same reason, I purchased these tassels from Allyson of  No Place Like Our Home...

When I saw the crosses on these fun little tassels, I HAD to have a couple!

I have many more throughout my home; but this is just a small sampling.  I know they are trendy to collect right now; but, for me, they are a constant reminder of what our Lord has done for us!  And what a great way to start a new year!!

Hope you are having a blessed Sunday; and please stop by Alison's blog, The Polohouse, for Favorites On The First.  It is so much fun to see what other bloggers love to collect. You may find some great inspiration for your home; or you may want to link up a collection of your own!

Have a great day...and Happy New Year!!

  3. You really do have an extensive cross collection! I love crosses too. I recently changed my vignette on my sideboard in the dining room and added candles with crosses on them. I really like those pillows with the crosses on them you have.

  7. Happy New Year!! You have a fabulous collection, Shenita! I love it all! Guess what? I am decorating my Dining Room this afternoon, and I went on line for some inspiration. I typed in "Tuscan - Old World Decor" in my Google search bar, and I kept coming across all these pictures that caught my eye. When I clicked on the images, guess whose pictures they are? I'll tell you, YOURS!! Ha!! So, I must thank you, you gave me a ton of ideas for 2012 decorating.

  22. Shenta you have a wonderful collection. Since I've started blogging believe it or not all I collect is junk (smile). I'm so afraid if I throw away something someone will come up showing how it can be turned into something....enjoy your New Year.

  23. Like you, I collect crosses. And for the same reason. I usually pick them up when we are on vacation and I mark on the back of each one where I bought it. Some of them are to remind me of special events, like our 25th anniversary. I also collect cross pendants to wear, as well as vintage religious medals and crosses for the jewelry that I make. I collect other things as well, but crosses are my first love. Happy New Year !
