Christmas in the Kitchen

Christmas in the kitchen starts with the pot rack, the countertop accents, and the kitchen table.

The pot rack is really the focal point of the kitchen.

I kept things pretty simple. I added muted red, green, and copper ornaments, to the existing copper pots.  I also added a garland of red berries; and gold berry picks were randomly placed around the perimeter.

As you enter the kitchen, this jolly guy is there to greet you:

Doesn't he look happy?

It's because he knows my thrifting secrets! A couple of weeks ago, I came across this dish and canape plate by Fitz and Floyd. I found the dish at Goodwill; and later, that same day, I found the plate at the Salvation Army thrift store:

I got the plate for $1.99 and the dish was $3.99...a true 'steal' for Fitz and Floyd!

I purchased some inexpensive bells at Hobby Lobby, covered them with a small cloche, and created this vignette.  This is the 'Woodland Santa' from my collection:

For the holidays, I always purchase fresh fruit for the tiered bowl...

In keeping with the Tuscan feel, two simple wreaths were placed on the french doors, leading to the home office, just off the kitchen:

I decorated them with beaded fruit, gilded pinecones, and glittery leaves and berries.

In the corner, near the sink, a miniature tea set holds candy canes...

I also used a cake plate to hold a mini sleigh and ornaments...

On the center island, near the cooktop, is this little group of accessories...

The harlequin fleur de lis jar is filled with leftover ornaments...

In the background, there are also two wall pockets, filled with glittered fruit, on both sides of the kitchen window (forgot to get a closeup pic)...and this wreath hangs between them, above the kitchen sink...

Then, it's over to the kitchen table...

I wanted to keep the red, green, and gold color scheme going...I found a set of  8 yellow/gold stoneware plates at the Salvation Army thrift store, a couple of weeks ago.  They are from Williams-Sonoma. I only paid $2.99 per plate!

I bought these great dessert plates, several years ago, (I don't remember where), but they tell the story, "Twas The Night Before Christmas"...

I added amber and green goblets, and red pressed glass.  I love the vintage appeal of the pressed glass...

I also made a centerpiece to compliment the one in the dining room, and added amber votives and mini ornaments...

And, that's 'Christmas In The Kitchen'!

  5. WOW! I'm a bit behind and had to do some catching up with several of your posts, so now I'm on a "blogger high" from seeing all your beautiful decor. Everything from your mantel to the bannister to the dining room and now to your kitchen is STUNNING! Any one area or all of them could easily be pictures in some awesome magazine. I love all your Tuscan colors incorporated into the decor. I don't have any of it, but I'm lovin' the chocolate browns you have used -- maybe next year?
