Another Transformation...

As you can tell, there is a slight lull in blogland, as everyone is preparing to "deck the halls".  For me, I've been using this time to take care of those little crafts and projects that need to be completed before the holidays.

Remember this wood shelf from one of my thrift finds?
It was only $3.99!

I thought it was really pretty; but, the finish was all wrong for my decor. So, I gave it a light coat of Rustoleum Metallic Oil Rubbed Bronze:

Next, I added a few swipes of antique gold and copper craft paint, to highlight the details.

One last swipe of Antiquing glaze; and it is ready to be dressed for Christmas!

After:

I hope I have inspired you to transform something in your home!

  14. Shenita, It looks beautiful!
ORB paint is my best friend! LOL I have done so many projects using this spray paint and it always works so well. I just recently used it on some old lamps and it changed the whole look.

  25. You are smart to get your transformations done now because you'll be busy during the holidays. Let's just say I'm so far behind, I'll be very busy the next month or so. That is a beautiful shelf. I love carvings and rose details, but you made it more up to date with the new finish. Can't wait to see how you display it.
