The "Fruits" of my Labor...It's Harvest Time!

Happy Monday, everyone!! Wow! What a thunderstorm we had last night! Torrential rains, winds of 60 mph, and quarter-sized hail. As most of you know, Texas has been experiencing a severe drought; and wildfires have become quite prevalent. Despite the severity of last night's storm, we were blessed to have had some significant rain.

While all of that was going on, I decided to get creative, to provide a distraction. There is a space on the corner of my center island that I thought could use a touch of fall. I dug into my "box of treats" and got creative.

I decided to make this arrangement from grapes and artichokes that I had used before, in some other arrangements.  I added a few pumpkins, gourds, a couple of fall picks and a couple of loaves of bread.

Once I got it all arranged, I decided to add Mr. Rooster and a cookbook to the mix. I bought the candlestick lamp at a friend's garage sale for $5 and added the beads to the lamp shade with my trusty hot glue gun.

I think it adds a festive punch of color to the corner of the center island!

Verse for today:
Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.   James 5:18 (NIV)

  1. That turned just beautiful. Love artichokes in any arrangement. What a steal on the lamp, love you made it your own by adding the beads. Glad ya'll got some rain, it is headed to us and we also really need it. Have a great day.

  2. Beautiful arrangement, the tiers of bounty are stunning! Love the touches of artichoke. And the vignette is very pretty as well! :)

Great glad for the rain for ya'll!

  3. Gorgeous!! I love your container and the artichokes, grapes and pumpkins. Such a pretty vignette in your kitchen. I'm your newest follower. Don't know how I missed you before. I'm so glad you got rain. A lot of us here in GA have been praying for rain for you. We are so far below the rain we need, but nothing like what Texas is experiencing.
